I still have more work to do, like adding some more Colorado malls and posting the many submissions I've received, but for now, this update will have to do. 11/06/04: Added Lakewood Mall in Washington, and updated the Dixie Square Mall page. As can be seen on the CinCity3D page, the CinCity3D model is no longer available for AIM download. Pictures will still be posted. Additionally, financial problems have materialized, creating a threat to MallHistory. The website may be closed in the future weeks. However, I will update you all and post a banner as to whether or not this information will prove true or false. 4/09/05: As far as I can tell, MallHistory will be staying for now. I will keep you all posted. In other news, I am going to be working on two new Colorado locations: Buckingham Square and Crossroads malls. These have been added to the index, but have not yet been hyperlinked. Additionally, I have added a link given to me by Daniel Peck that illustrates the history of malls. On another note: PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE SUBMISSIONS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN POSTED! I have lost track of the pending articles, so help me out and email me if your article hasn't been posted. Thanks. 4/10/05: Added Danny Ricci's article on the Frederick Town Mall 4/11/05: Continuing various work around the website: fixing small errors and making the site a bit easier on the eyes. 6/19/05: Finally updated site. I have added a huge amount of pictures of Cinderella City to the site, as well as a whole new mall - Crossroads Mall in Boulder, Colorado. I have about 30 pictures of that up and ready, as well. I have updated my cincity3D page and as it states, work will no longer continue on the virtual Cinderella City Mall until further notice, but work will progress on the models near the bottom of the page (I have updated those pictures, as well). Additionally, I am going to begin a new rule on the site, and that is if anyone wants to submit pictures for the site, you must host them on other webistes and then submit the link and an appropriate caption to the site, and I will link them for you. Third party hosters include www.imageshack.com, which provides free hosting for files under 1024 KB. All pictures currently on the site that are 1) not mine and 2) have not been hosted will remain, but in the future, for any pictures other than those I possess or I have taken myself must be hosted elsewhere due to size limitations - I'm sorry. In other news, I have updated MallHistory's homepage and removed a few features that were useless and cluttering the look. I have updated my picture in the www.mallhistory.com/webmaster page and will from now on be slightly changing the look of new pages I make. The old pages can be recognized by certain features and the new pages can be recognized by newer, more attractive text. Thank you all for your patience, sorry for the late update. 6/20/05: Replaced some pictures of the Halogen Valley Complex on the cincity3D page. 8/29/05: Revamped "cincity3D" page. It is now called "sonic.html" and is geared more towards my architecture love and profession. This account will be slowly turning into the home of Sonic! Architectural Services, my company. I am looking for a new owner for the MallHistory domain and all that comes with it. 10/30/05: Slightly updated site with message about the guestbook. Once again, we must stress that a MallHistory will be closing in the near future due to budget cuts. If anyone wants to take over the site, please contact us at webmaster@mallhistory.com. The architectural website associated with this domain will be moved to another server, courtesy of some friends at www.ataricommunity.com. Thank you. 1/16/06: We're still here for the time being. Archived and deleted all current guestbook entries. Archive link added to index. 2/15/06: As the MallHistory page views increase, I realize the time for a massive cosmetic overhaul on the website is drastically needed. This is my goal for the coming months. Look for a new MallHistory look soon. Today I updated my architectural online portfolio with some news on my ongoing project, installing a credit union in my high school. 3/1/06: Updated my architectural webpage. 4/8/06: Okay, I know I've been promising it. I swear, a MallHistory "renovation" project is coming as soon as I can do it. The one thing I will be doing is deleting all the articles I wrote and redirecting viewers to any website that has better, more accurate information. After scanning through pages I wrote two years ago, I'm astonished at how bad some of the writing material on here is, as many of you have probably thought yourselves. 5/1/06: It has started. The MallHistory renovation project has begun. New colors, pictures, an overhauled layout and navigation system, the whole works. This will take a while, but watch for updates every week or so. 5/4/06: Revamped credits and webmaster pages. Fixed problems on index. Began updating the article/image pages as well. So far, I've revamped the Apache Plaza pages, the Bell Tower page, and the Cinderella City pages. 5/24/06: Updated architectural webpage with my new hydrogen fuel station. Also fixed some errors on contribution page. 5/29/06: Updated quite a vew of the individual mall pages to suit MallHistory's new look. I've also fixed the bugs on the index page (all links under every state should work now). 5/31/06: Finished the MallHistory cosmetic overhaul. Every page has been formatted to the cleaner look, the index slightly re-arranged (took down the "We're renovating" image). MallHistory is now accepting submissions. As it says on the index, we need all we can get. 6/28/06: Added Buckingham Square Mall to the Colorado section. No mall history on this one, but I've run across a great link that contains 90+ photos of the mall. Also added Battlefield Mall to the Missouri section. 7/01/06: www.mallhistory.com/sonic now redirects to www.mallhistory.com/gaa as part of the changeover from Sonic! Architectural Services to Goldstein and Associates, LLC. 7/05/06: Changed layout of index, added www.mallhistory.com/about, www.mallhistory.com/guestbook, www.mallhistory.com/guestbookII. 7/26/06: Added Allentown Outlet Mall in Maryland. 7/30/06: Released an important service announcement regarding display issues on the website. 8/14/06: Added four malls along with great plans and renderings to the Ohio lineup (Salem Mall, City Centre Mart, Tri-County Mall, Dayton Mall). Reinstalled the Cinderella City article. Slightly updated my 3D model gallery (look for some additional projects soon as well as some new media on existing projects). 8/18/06: Updated Buckingham Square article and images, added the long-awaited Southglenn Mall article. Images coming soon - until then visit my City of Centennial's "Project Historian" page for updates and pictures. Also re-worded and fixed the Cinderella City Images page. 8/19/06: Added San Jacinto Mall and Lenox Square Mall articles and pictures, also added some information on various Towson area malls in Maryland. 8/20/06: Added Pasadena Town Square Mall in Pasadena, Texas. 8/27/06: Added Belle Prominade Mall in Louisiana, Northgate Shopping Center in Washington, and Southdale Center in Minnesota. I've also added a news article on my work on the Southglenn Redevelopment here in Colorado on my 3D Model Gallery. www.mallhistory.com/gaa/press is the page, http://www.centennialcitizen.com/site/tab2.cfm?newsid=17107501 is the direct link to the article. 11/10/06: Added Great Neck Plaza - NY, Cross Country Shopping Center - NY, Park Forest Plaza, IL, Broadway-Crenshaw Center - CA, Lakewood Center - CA, Huntington Beach Mall - CA, Oglethorpe Mall, GA. Added link for Mall of Memphis on index, corrected accuracy errors in Hollywood Fashion Center article. Added/replaced images of the Buckingham Square Mall in Colorado. 11/12/06: Added photos to Greenville Mall, St. Charles Mall article and photos, added information to Crossroads Mall. 11/27/06: Updated Model Gallery with a new project under "Dreams". 1/15/07: Updated Buckingham Square Mall article. 1/19/07: Updated Cinderella City article with a historical narrative. 1/21/07: Due to formatting issues, all articles previously hosted internally (mallhistory.com/_____) have been converted to protected Word documents. All mall documents updated to reflect this. 3/15/08: Minor edits. |
